Kwangwoon University Team Won Grand Prize at 2020 University Innovation Support Project Metropolitan Performance Forum
Kwangwoon University ‘Noisy Students’ team won the grand prize at the '2020 University Innovation Support Project Metropolitan Area Achievement Forum' held from January 28 (Thu) to February 3 (Wed), 2021.
The ‘Noisy Students’ team at
Kwangwoon University drew a lot of attention by holding a campaign called 'Taegeukgi
122609 to the End’ (Taegeukgi = Korean flag), in Chambit design class of spring
semester 2020. This campaign began with the purpose of remembering the
dedication of 12,609 ROK soldiers who were not found until this year, the 70th
anniversary of the Korean War. The Taegeukgi badge is a new symbol of veterans’
service created by the Kwangwoon University Public Communication Research Institute,
which covers the Taegeukgi when excavating the remains of veterans of the
Korean War and is designed to be seen when they pay silent tribute. Since last
year, it has been developed by applying more than 20,000 big data analysis and
design thinking methodologies, and the developed symbol has begun to attract
attention as students at the Department of Media and Communication launched a
campaign through SNS such as Instagram. Subsequently, it took over from the Ministry
of Patriots and Veterans Affairs took over and carried out a campaign to the public
at the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, which grabbed a lot of attention.
Meanwhile, the ‘Noisy Students’ team is made up of Kwangwoon University students Jaewoo Yoon (Senior, Department of Media and Communication) and Jung Yoon Lee (Junior, Department of Media and Communication).
