Notice on Shortening Quarantine Period for Overseas Entrants

○ (Target) Overseas entrants (facility, self)

○ (Quarantine Period) 10 days quarantine from the date of entry (facility, self)

- Among those who enter the country and quarantined for 7 days in facility 7 days in self-quarantine can quarantine for 5 days in facility 5 days in self-quarantine.

* Those entering from South Africa, Tanzania, Chile, Peru, or Myanmar, and those who did not submit PCR negative confirmation, foreigners staying for a short period of time have to quarantine at the facility for 10 days

○ (Obligation of test before release from quarantine) On the 9th day of quarantine, complete* PCR test

* The test before leaving the facility (day 5-6), which was conducted for those who were quarantined for 7 days (facility) 7 days (self), is omitted →

Test on the 1st day of entry (facility) and on the 9th day before release from quarantine (public health center) only

○ (Release from quarantine) Only those quarantined who have confirmed negative PCR test before release will be released at noon 12 o’clock on the 11th day after the day of entry.

- However, facility quarantine persons (short-term residents, etc.) who wish to stay in facilities due to difficulties in securing accommodation in Korea are allowed to self-quarantine for 14 days (2 weeks deferred, until November 14, '21) ☞ The quarantine is shortened by 10 days under the condition that the test before release is negative, so if you do not receive a PCR test before release, you will be quarantined for 14 days (If you receive a late test before release or if you receive an undecided result*, you will be released from quarantine depending on the time of negative confirmation)

*(Ex.) Tested at 18:00 on the 10th day and negative at 16:00 on the 11th → Released from quarantine at 16:00 on the 11th
