- First Step in Support for the Establishment of a Healthy Start-up Ecosystem in Gangbuk-gu by Enterprise Growth Phase

- The Gangbuk Startup Support Center in Gangbuk Youth Maru, which opened in April, will be recruiting (until May 16th) prospective entrepreneurs in the technical, specialized, and general fields and 12 start-up companies within 5 years of the establishment

Kwangwoon University Industry-University Cooperation Foundation (Director Park Cheol-Hwan) is recruiting twelve companies to move into the "Gangbuk Startup Support Center" by May 16th. 

 

The Gangbuk Startup Support Center, run by Gangbuk Youth Startup Maru (Chairman Kwon  Hyejin), is a startup support space whose mission is to support every stage of growth to create a healthy startup ecosystem in Gangbuk-gu. 

 

The recruitment scale of the tenant companies at Gangbuk Youth Startup Maru - Gangbuk Startup Support Center is 7 teams of shared seats for single rooms, 3 teams for double rooms, and 2 teams for 4-person rooms. 

 

Recruitment targets are those who are 15 years of age or older and who have resident registration or the right to live in Seoul as of the announcement date, and start-ups establishing date of which is within the last 5 years. 

 

Tenant companies are completely exempt from rent and management fees can freely use the free office space prototype production start lab prototype photography studio and business meeting room. In addition, on preferential terms, there is an opportunity to participate in various start-up support programs of the Gangbuk Startup Support Center. 

 

Companies wishing to relocate must check the announcement on the Gangbuk Youth Startup Maru blog (blog.naver.com/gb_maru), complete and submit an entry application and business plan by May 16 (Monday). 

 

The selection process is conducted through 1) document screening and 2) presentation evaluation. Companies that are confirmed to move in according to the final selection result can start moving in from June 2nd. The space can be used for up to three years after renewal is verified.

Hyejin Kwon, head of the Gangbuk Youth Startup Maru Center, said, “Let the excellent start-ups move into the Gangbuk Youth Startup Maru-Gangbuk Startup Support Center, an institution specializing in start-up support in Gangbuk-gu. We will contribute to creating a healthy startup ecosystem in Gangbuk-gu as well as driving the employment rate.” 

 

Park Cheol-hwan, head of Kwangwoon University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, said, “For the tenants of the Gangbuk Startup Support Center, Kwangwoon University, a leading start-up university, will connect as much as possible with the start-up know-how accumulated over the years. We will create a successful business model of industry-university-government cooperation.”
