Professor Kim Taekyung (Division of Business Administration) won the APJBVE Best Paper Award

The research team of Professor Tae-Kyung Kim (Division of Business Administration), Yang-Hyeon Yoon (Graduated in 2022, Division of Business Administration), and Soo-Young Kim (Graduated in 2022, Department of Mathematics) of Kwangwoon University won the Best Paper Award from the Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship on April 16th.

The Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship (APJBVE), published by The Korean Society of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship (KSBV), ranks 1st to 3rd in the KCI ranking for business administration. Professor Lee Ilhan (Chung-Ang University), Editor-in-Chief of APJBVE, said, "This is the first time in the history of APJBVE that a research team composed of undergraduate students has won the Best Paper Award". Thus, Kwangwoon University students' high research potential and competence were recognized.

Professor Kim Taekyung, who led the research team, said, "It is important to accumulate research capabilities and data literacy to live in a new era of data-centric digital transformation." He expressed his hope that the news of this award would serve as a good opportunity. Yoon Yanghyun, the first author, understood the data mining method more deeply while preparing the thesis "Study on Predicting the Designation of Administrative Issue in the KOSDAQ Market Based on Machine Learning Based on Financial Data". He said that he enjoyed the process of logical writing and evidence-based discussion while writing the thesis. The co-author of this research paper, Kim Soo-young, participated in the methodology and data analysis theoretical explanation. She also actively participated in the paper revision process. While preparing this thesis, Yoon Yanghyun worked in an investment company that developed an AI-based investment algorithm. Kim Sooyoung has been preparing to enter a graduate school specializing in artificial intelligence.

The award ceremony was held at the KSBV 2022 Spring Conference held at Gachon University on April 16th. KSBV is a multidisciplinary academic meeting on startups and venture investment, focusing on theoretical and practical aspects with Chairman Jeon Seong-min (Gachon University) at the center.
