Kwangwoon University Signs Industry-University Collaboration Agreement with onsemi-Korea
Kwangwoon University signed Industry-University Collaboration agreement with onsemi-Korea (CEO Ben Kang) on December 22 to foster innovative talents in the semiconductor field.
Through this agreement, matters related to industry-academic
cooperation between the two institutions will be mutually cooperated including Joint
promotion of employment-linked undergraduate and master's internship programs
in the semiconductor field; Joint research projects in the semiconductor sector
and government R&D projects; Operation of a research exchange meeting
centered on technicians and researchers in the semiconductor field; Joint
development and operation of a talent training program tailored to corporate
demand; Operation of programs related to start-up support in semiconductor
field & other matters related to industry-academic cooperation.
The company onsemi-Korea, founded in 1999, is a global company
with sales of KRW 8 trillion, top 20 in the world, and a member of the Fortune
500. onsemi-Korea is also a company that has grown to become a major branch of onsemi
with over 1 trillion in sales and 2,000 employees. It focuses on power
semiconductors and sensors in the non-memory sector, which accounts for 70% of
the global semiconductor market worth more than 700 trillion won, and was also
selected as the best company for Korean jobs certified by the president in
2022.

Hyo-soo (Department Manager) attended the signing ceremony.
