Professor Lee Taek's Research Team (Department of Chemical Engineering) Won the Excellent Academic Award at the 2023 Korean Society for Biomaterials Spring Conference
Professor
Lee Taek's (Department of Chemical Engineering) research team at our university
won excellent academic awards in the SOC (Student Oral Competition) category
(master's students Park Go-eun and Park Han-bin) and the PO (Poster session)
category (master's student Yoon Ye-jin) at the "2023 Korean Society for
Biomaterials Spring Conference" held in March.
In
the SOC category, Park Go-eun presented on the topic of "Preparation of
DNA aptamer and development of electrical biosensor for detection of Zika virus
in human serum" (Park Go-eun, Lee Taek), and Park Han-bin presented on
"A rapid AC-based electrochemical biosensor composed of truncated DNA
aptamers to detect West Nile virus in human serum samples" (Park Han-bin,
Lee Taek), and both received excellent academic awards. In the PO category,
Yoon Ye-jin presented a poster on the topic of "Fabrication of DNA
electrochemical biosensor for detection of harmful cyanobacteria Aphanizomenon
flos-aquae" (Yoon Ye-jin, Lee Taek) and received an excellent paper presentation
award.
In
addition to these achievements, Professor Lee Taek's research team has also won
numerous research awards at the "2021 Korean Society for Biomaterials Fall
Conference," "2021 Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering
Chemistry Fall Conference," "2022 Korean Society for Biomaterials
Spring Conference," "2022 Korean Society for Biochip," and
"2023 Korean Society for Biomaterials Spring Conference."
The
Korean Society for Biomaterials was established in 1996 as a global society
where domestic and international clinical practitioners, industry
representatives, universities, and research institutes gather to exchange
academic and technical information on the development and function of various
biomaterials for the treatment of human diseases and improvement of quality of
life. Last year, the society's academic journal, "Biomaterials
Research," was also included in SCIE, achieving a notable accomplishment.
