Commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of Korea-Switzerland Diplomatic Relations: Hosting of the Town Hall Meeting with the Invitation of the Swiss Ambassador to Korea, "Kwangwoon, In Love with Switzerland"
Kwangwoon Academy and
Kwangwoon University held a town hall meeting on the 8th of last month at the Kwangwoon
University New Light Hall, inviting the Swiss Ambassador to Korea to
commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and
Switzerland. The event was attended by the Chairman of Kwangwoon Academy, the
President of Kwangwoon University, as well as officials and students from Kwangwoon
University, Kwangwoon Artificial Intelligence High School, Namdaemun Middle
School, Kwangwoon Middle School, Kwangwoon Elementary School, and others.
During the event, Ambassador Dagmar Schmidt Tartagli discussed
the significance and importance of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations
between Korea and Switzerland, emphasizing Switzerland's policies in supporting
technological innovation, tourism, and environmental protection. There were
also discussions and dialogues on the interests of students from various
schools under Kwangwoon Academy.
Chairman Jo Seon-young of Kwangwoon Academy stated,
"Through the Swiss case, we gained insights into setting the direction for
future higher education. It was an opportunity to rethink the social
contributions of academia and technological innovation."
President Kim Jong-heon of Kwangwoon University expressed
gratitude for the meaningful year with Switzerland, stating, "We
appreciate the participation of the Swiss Ambassador in the Kwangwoon
University town hall meeting. We hope that through strengthening the
cooperative relationship between the two countries, we can expand research and
student exchanges between universities."
Meanwhile, in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Kwangwoon University plans to create opportunities for the activation of international exchange programs with Swiss universities and establish a mutually cooperative framework.
