'2023 Excellence Institution for Intellectual Property Management'

Kwangwoon University was selected as a ' Excellence Institution for Intellectual Property Management in 2023' for its overall outstanding performance in the field of intellectual property management, including the creation and utilization of intellectual property rights, in the 'IP Management Basic Diagnosis Survey' conducted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and Korea Intellectual Property Strategy Agency (KISTA). The award ceremony for Excellence Institution for Intellectual Property Management was held at the opening ceremony of the '2023 Inter-Ministry Public Technology Transfer Commercialization Roadshow,' where the President of Korean Intellectual Property Office presented certificates and plaques at Yonsei University on September 12^th.

As a result of this recognition, the university will receive KIPO points for the next three years, allowing up to a 40% support for the payment of royalties for patents invented by faculty members.

Meanwhile, since 2020, the KIPO and the KISTA have been conducting the 'IP Management Basic Diagnosis Survey' for universities and public institutions, evaluating their intellectual property management performance and comprehensive assessments based on institution disclosures over the past three years. Based on this evaluation, they have been selecting outstanding institutions in the field of intellectual property management as 'Intellectual Property Excellence Institutions.'
