The Joint Research team of Professor Minsu Jo and Professor Gyudong Park Wins Edutech Data Analysis Competition

Jiyeon Kim (3rd semester of master's program) and Joo Hyun Kim (2nd semester of master's program) from the research team of Professor Minsu Jo and Professor Gyudong Park (Department of Information Convergence and the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence Application) won the gold award at the Edutech Data Analysis Competition held on September 23rd.

The joint research team defined learning patterns based on learning history data and analyzed in-depth factors affecting learning and their relationship with learning performance. In particular, they verified through data that following the recommended learning procedures and repetitive learning behavior in an e-learning environment had a positive effect on learning performance.

The competition was held as part of the EduTech academic conference at the ‘2023 EduTech Korea Fair’, the largest EduTech fair in Korea hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Education. At the expo, edutech products and services from over 230 companies from 15 countries were displayed.

The research team commented, 'It is meaningful that the results of the joint research led to an award, and it would be interesting to deliver meaningful information to both learners and instructors by identifying data-based learning patterns in online lectures on campus.'
