University held a cultural event, a group movie watching for university’s sports
clubs including the soccer and ice hockey teams, at Lotte Cinema (Suyu) on
October 18. The event was attended by 51 members of Kwangwoon University’s sports
clubs, including Sunyoung Cho (Chair of Kwangwoon University Foundation),
Jongheon Kim (President of Kwangwoon University), and the sports department’s
press team (Armas, Spodi). Together, they watched the movie '1947 Boston,'
which was released in September.

Cho (Chair of Kwangwoon University Foundation) and Jongheon Kim (President of
Kwangwoon University), who hosted the event, said, "We prepared a cultural
program that the students of Kwangwoon University’s sports department who are
dedicated to sports can empathize through watching the movie on the sports theme."
They added, "We hope that they can enhance communication and teamwork in
group life and grow both physically and mentally through this cultural event."

Jang, CEO of film production company BA Entertainment, said, "I know that Kwangwoon
University’s soccer team and ice hockey team are prestigious powerhouses in
traditional university sports," and” I hope Kwangwoon University’s sports
department continue good performance and results, and this film will provide some
encouragement for them.
Meanwhile, Kwangwoon University’s soccer team achieved the 3rd place in the Fall University Football League of the 58th Baekdu Mountain Range Cup in 2022 and the 3rd place in the 59th Spring University Football League in 2023. Currently, they are participating in the 2023 University Football U-League Zone 1 while the ice hockey team won the collegiate championship in the National Winter Sports Festival in 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023 and is currently participating in the 2023 University Ice Hockey U-League.
