From May 21st to May 25th, 2024, the first international conference in Korea on the theme of ''Supporting Educational Institutions and Students to Lead Sustainable Change' was held, organized by the International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS) and the Korea Student Aid Foundation, and supported by the Ministry of Education and Daegu Metropolitan City at EXCO Daegu.

International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS) is a non-profit international cooperation organization established to promote student support practices and expand human exchanges, with over 1,500 members and 169 institutions from 95 countries.

The event on May 23 was attended by more than 200 IASAS members from more than 40 countries, and began with a keynote speech by Professor Birgit Phillips (Director of AI Education Support at FH Joanneum University, Austria) followed by a student panel with students from the Division of International Studies and the School of Software at Kwangwoon University and the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University.

Lisa Moscaritolo (IASAS Secretary-General), who chaired the student panel, asked the participating students about their campus experiences related to 'DEI: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion.' The Kwangwoon University student, Universe Shrestha, who participated in the panel, answered that as an international student in Korea, there were various difficulties such as cultural adaptation, classes in Korean, and the challenges of group projects with Korean students who always do their best, but as long as he worked hard to help his team members, he had no particular problems keeping up with classes, given the nature of software department education, which primarily focuses on programming languages. Also, Yang Seo-hyuk, a student from the Division of International Studies at Kwangwoon University emphasized the school-level support for military veterans returning to university life because it takes a lot of effort to keep up with classes after the military service.
