materials such as a Jeju 4.3 Incident's chronological table, character relationships,
maps, author Kim Seok-beom's chronicle, and reference materials to deepen the

Bo-ryeom Park (cultural arts educator), Byung-hyun Son (novelist), Seung-ho Yoo

Studies).
'Hwasando' is set
against the tumultuous backdrop of the period from February 1948, just before
the Jeju 4.3 Incident, to June 1949, when the armed uprising of the Jeju
guerrillas was suppressed.
