Collaboration on Application Software
Development, Multilingual Services, and Overseas Marketing Agreement
- Systematic collaboration established with Nectarsoft Co. for the development of a safety platform by the AI Industry Research Center -
On June 10th at 5 PM,
the AI Industry Research Center of Kwangwoon University signed an agreement
with Nectarsoft Co. at the Hanul Bld. of Kwangwoon University for collaboration
in application software development, providing multilingual services, and overseas
marketing.
This agreement
includes Nectarsoft Co.'s wireless communication control and situation
reception integrated platform VRS, real-time AI contact center platform ATHENA,
smart safety management monitoring system for high-risk industrial sites ECHO,
and ARGOS, developed with 1.6 billion KRW support from the Ministry of Trade,
Industry, and Energy's Excellent Enterprise Research Center Development Project
(ATC), based on the participation and consultation of the AI Industry Research
Center.
ARGOS is a safety
platform developed for the rapidly increasing number of single-person
households and elderly living alone, utilizing multimodal AI technology (sound,
video) and voice chatbots to monitor falls, fainting, and dangerous situations
in real time. If there is no physical movement for a certain period, ARGOS
initiates an AI-trained voice inquiry using familiar voices of family or
acquaintances. If no physical movement or voice response is detected, it
immediately contacts family members, responsible personnel, or pre-registered
medical institutions.
The AI Industry
Research Center and Nectarsoft Co. are developing an AI-based multilingual
service, initially focusing on providing English services. Once product
validation is complete and it enters the practical phase, they plan to market
to Korean seniors in the U.S. who prefer English.
Nectarsoft Co. CEO
Sung-ho Park stated, “AI developed by humans should be utilized for human
well-being. To achieve this, our company will continue to systematically
collaborate with the AI Industry Research Center of Kwangwoon University to
develop and commercialize AI-based software essential for various aspects of
our lives.” He added, “With a determined attitude, we will move towards our
goals through industry-academia cooperation.”
Professor Il-jae Lee
(Department of English Industrial Studies at Kwangwoon University), head of the
AI Industry Research Center, mentioned, “In the upcoming era of the 5th
industrial revolution, everything will change. If necessary changes are not
made, obsolescence is inevitable. For the advancement of our nation's IT
companies with groundbreaking and unique software technology, we will also
unite our efforts in humanities.”
Meanwhile, the AI
Industry Research Center and Nectarsoft Co. plan to actively promote ARGOS
marketing in the U.S. starting in 2025.
