- Offered Educational Programs, Volunteer Services, Cultural Exchanges, and Immersive Local Experiences in Pokhara, Nepal -

From July 12th to 20th, Kwangwoon University (President Jangho Chun)’s International Volunteer Group carried out a range of volunteer activities in Pokhara, Nepal.

The international volunteer team, consisting of 20 Kwangwoon University students and a leader from the Student Welfare Team in the Office of Student Affairs, actively engaged in providing educational services―such as Korean language, taekwondo, and computer lessons―to underprivileged children and youth at the ‘4th Birethanti Human School’, situated at the start of the Annapurna Trekking Region in Nepal. They also contributed to improving the school's learning environment through various volunteer efforts. In addition, they had a meaningful time building bonds with local students through cultural exchanges, including traditional Korean games and sports competitions.

Since its founding in 2010, the Kwangwoon University International Volunteer Corps has traveled to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Nepal twice a year, during summer and winter, with the exception of the period when international travel was restricted due to COVID-19. Its mission is to cultivate volunteers and the next generation of global leaders with international awareness and critical thinking skills, while also raising the profile of both Kwangwoon University and Korea.
