Kwangwoon University Selected for "World's Top 2% Scientists" List
- Jointly Announced by Stanford University and Elsevier,
a Global Leader in Science, Technology, and Medicine Publishing -
Eighteen
professors from our university have been selected among the world's top 2%
scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier.
The "World
Top 2% Scientists" list identifies researchers from around the world who
have published at least five papers across 22 scientific fields and 174
subfields. The final selection is based on their impact, determined by citation
metrics provided by the Scopus database, a leading index for high-quality
academic papers.
This year,
Kwangwoon University had eight researchers listed among the top 2% based on
lifetime achievements. These include Professor Taekyun Kim (Department of
Mathematics), Professor Hwanseop Eom (Visiting Professor at PBRC), Professor
Min Jang (Department of Environmental Engineering), Professor Myeonju Park
(Department of Electronics Convergence Engineering), Professor Younghoon Kim
(Department of Chemical Engineering), Professor Eunha Choi (Department of
Electrical & Biological Physics), Professor Sangshin Lee (Department of
Electronic Engineering), and researcher Omar (Ph.D. candidate in the Department
of Electronic Engineering).
As of 2023, a
total of 16 researchers from Kwangwoon University were included among the
world's top 2% scientists. They are Professor Taekyun Kim (Department of
Mathematics), Professor Jaeyoung Park (Department of Electronic Engineering), Professor
Koduru (Department of Environmental Engineering), Professor Min Jang
(Department of Environmental Engineering), Professor Eunsung Cho (Division of
Business Administration), Professor Najendra (Department of Electrical &
Biological Physics), Professor Eunha Choi (Department of Electrical &
Biological Physics), Professor Youngjin Sa (Department of Chemistry), Professor
Hwanseop Eom (Visiting Professor at PBRC), Professor Taejun Ha (Department of
Electronic Materials Engineering), Professor Taek Lee (Department of Chemical
Engineering), Professor Namyoung Kim (Department of Electronic Engineering),
Professor Sangshin Lee (Department of Electronic Engineering), Professor
Hyungeun Lee (Department of Mathematics), researcher Lingamdinne (Department of
Environmental Engineering), and researcher Omar (Department of Electronic
Engineering).
Among them,
Professor Taekyun Kim (Department of Mathematics), Professor Hwanseop Eom
(Visiting Professor at PBRC), Professor Min Jang (Department of Environmental
Engineering), Professor Eunha Choi (Department of Electrical & Biological
Physics), Professor Sangshin Lee (Department of Electronic Engineering), and
researcher Omar (Department of Electronic Engineering) were included in both
criteria, bringing the total to 18 researchers from our university listed in
the "World's Top 2% Scientists." This once again demonstrates the
exceptional research capabilities of our university.
The list of the
top 2% scientists in various academic fields, announced by Elsevier and
Stanford University based on global research competitiveness, was released in
October.
