Cybersecurity Paper Competition
Students from the research team of Professor
Jinwoo Kim (Cloud and Network Security Laboratory) at the School of Software of
our university received the Grand Prize and the Encouragement Award at the 2024
Cybersecurity Paper Competition, hosted by the National Intelligence Service
and organized by the Korean Association of Cybersecurity Studies.
Kyunghoon Park (School of Software graduate,
currently pursuing a master's degree at UC Irvine) and Jinwoo Choi (3rd-year
student, School of Software) won the Grand Prize for their paper titled
"CryptoGuard: A Host-Based Cryptojacker Detection and Prevention System
for Cloud Environments."
Additionally, Junhee Lee (master’s student,
Department of Computer Science), Minseok Kim (3rd-year student, School of
Software), and Jongseop Kim (4th-year student, Department of Mathematics)
received the Encouragement Award for their paper titled "UI Spoofing
Attacks and Countermeasures in Social VR Platforms."
The award ceremony took place on Saturday,
November 2, 2024, during the Korean Association of Cybersecurity Studies‘
annual academic conference and general meeting held at the SKY31 Convention.
