- Donghae Culture and
Arts Center Outdoor Plaza Hosts K-Content ‘Soul Spot’ Installation -
- Features as the Filming
Location for SEVENTEEN’s Music Video ‘Maestro’ -
A K-Content Soul Spot has been installed in the
outdoor plaza of the Donghae Culture and Arts Center.
The Soul Spot, an initiative hosted by Seoul
City, represents locations imbued with the "soul" of protagonists
from K-Content. Similar to the Blue Plaque in London, which commemorates places
associated with historical figures through descriptive markers, the Soul Spot
introduces the stories of locations and characters featured in K-Content.
Seoul City developed this tourism content in
response to the growing interest in "screen tourism," sparked by the
increasing number of visitors seeking locations featured in dramas, movies, and
other media. By scanning the QR code on the Soul Spot plaque with a smartphone,
visitors can listen to AI-powered multilingual explanations about the filming
location and its story.
The Soul Spot, installed in the outdoor plaza of
our university's Donghae Culture and Arts Center, introduces the center as the
music video filming location for the popular idol group SEVENTEEN.
SEVENTEEN is a boy group consisting of 13 members
divided into three units: a vocal team, a hip-hop team, and a performance team,
along with their fandom, all united under the concept of SEVENTEEN. In 2024,
SEVENTEEN held a special GV event to celebrate the release of their best album
[17 IS RIGHT HERE], where they took time to reflect on the greatest moments of
their journey so far. SEVENTEEN held this special GV event at Kwangwoon
University's Donghae Culture and Arts Center.
The Donghae Culture and Arts Center is also the
venue where SEVENTEEN held their very first fan meeting. In order to remember
the the beginning and cherish the memories, SEVENTEEN not only held the GV
event at this venue but also filmed the music video for MAESTRO, the title
track of their best album [17 IS RIGHT HERE], in the grand theater of the
Donghae Culture and Arts Center. The music video presents SEVENTEEN's dynamic
and dazzling performance, blending with the theater‘s seating structure and
lighting to amplify the song's refreshing yet powerful energy.

Cho Sun-ae, Director of the Donghae Culture and
Arts Center, stated, “The Donghae Culture and Arts Center is a cultural and
artistic space within Kwangwoon University, where various performances and
events such as concerts and fan meetings are held. I hope that being featured
as the filming location for SEVENTEEN’s music video will serve as a starting
point for the center to develop into a regional landmark.”
