Students from our university's Division of Business Administration (Kim Seok-ju, Yang Won-seok, Jung Ah-yeon, and Baek Ji-woo) were awarded the Excellence Award, the President's Award from the Korean Fire Protection Association, at the 4th Fire Safety Big Data Utilization and Idea Competition, organized by the National Fire Agency and the Fire Safety Big Data Platform.

The undergraduate team, "Productive Human Intelligence," received high praise for their project titled "Weather Factors and Wildfire Spread: Building a Damage Prediction Model Tailored for Gangwon Province." Their analysis of wildfire data and development of a damage prediction model were key factors in their strong evaluation by the judges.

This year, a total of 114 teams competed fiercely in the 4th Fire Safety Big Data Utilization and Idea Competition. In this highly competitive event, which included experts from IT companies, public officials, and firefighters, the team achieved an impressive result by winning the Excellence Award (3rd place).

Professor Choi Jae-woon (Division of Business Administration), who guided the students, stated, "Since the beginning of the year, the students have been collecting and analyzing wildfire data to develop a prediction model, and they even presented their research findings at the Korea Society of Management Information Systems Summer Conference." He added, "I want to send a message of encouragement and support to these students who passionately persevered in a field that might have been challenging for undergraduates."
