Global Symbiosis Project Group and Cisco
Successfully Complete Joint Convergence
Education Project for Humanities and Social Sciences Students
The HUSS Global Symbiosis Project Group at
Kwangwoon University (led by Professor Lee Hye-Young) and the global IT company
Cisco successfully co-hosted the "Future Talent Bootcamp" from
Thursday, December 19, to Friday, December 20, at Cisco Korea's headquarters. This
bootcamp was designed for humanities and social sciences students to help them
understand the role of technology-driven global companies, the qualities of
future talent, and gain practical experience.
On the first day of
the event, lectures were held on human resources management (HRM) and
organizational management in global companies, as well as case studies of
Cisco's corporate community initiatives. The highlight of the day was the
office tour conducted at Cisco's headquarters. Students had the opportunity to
experience the working environment and corporate culture at Cisco's
headquarters, as well as explore the global network services offered by Cisco. On
the second day, the event featured lectures on the Networking Academy and
marketing fundamentals, along with programs offering insights into future
careers in the AI and ICT fields.
Lee Hye-Young, head of
the HUSS Global Symbiosis Project Group, stated, “This convergence education
program is highly significant as it was tailored to meet the educational needs
of humanities and social sciences students by collaborating with a global
company to create a customized program. I hope it serves as an opportunity to
cultivate the creative problem-solving skills required by future society
through the fusion of technology and the humanities.”
Jung Yoon-Seo, a
participant from the Department of Public Administration (enrolled in 2020),
shared her thoughts, saying, “Interacting with a technology company gave me a
new perspective and was a great help in planning my future.”
Meanwhile, based on
this achievement, Kwangwoon University's HUSS Project Group plans to further
expand and enhance its convergence education programs. Additionally, it will
continue to collaborate with Cisco to operate global convergence talent
education programs and foster global talent.
