Kwangwoon University Successfully Concludes the 2nd Match-Up Advanced
Course Competition
Our university hosted the 2nd Match-Up Advanced Course
Competition on Friday, December 20, 2024, starting at 10 a.m. in the 80th
Anniversary Hall.
Match-Up, an industry-specific short-term job
competency certification program organized by the National Institute for
Lifelong Education, is designed for students, job seekers, and others aiming to
enhance their skills in emerging industries. The program certifies
participants' job competencies through collaboration between leading companies
and educational institutions.
Our university's Match-Up program provides both
foundational and advanced courses designed around key job competencies
identified in partnership with leading companies. This initiative promotes
lifelong learning, empowering participants to adapt to and thrive amidst
industry changes. Additionally, under the educational goal of "Fostering
Chambit Talents for the Future," we host the Match-Up Competition twice a
year, providing participants with opportunities to showcase and apply their job
competencies. The 2nd Match-Up Advanced Course Competition featured two
categories: business reports and posters. Approximately 100 participants, including
students enrolled in the 2024 Fall Semester Match-Up Advanced Course and
related personnel, took part in the event.
In his congratulatory speech, President Cheon Jang-ho
stated, “Today’s event serves as a crucial foundation for cultivating future
professionals in the bio-health sector through the collaboration of the
National Institute for Lifelong Education, Kwangwoon University, i-SENS Inc.,
and the Korea Digital Health Industry Association." He added, "I am
confident that this moment of sharing the key competency outcomes developed
during the intensive semester will serve as a stepping stone toward becoming
‘Chambit Talents for the Future.’”
As a result of the evaluation, 18 teams were selected
across four job categories in the poster category (internal), receiving a total
of 2.5 million won in prize money and an award presented under the name of the
Director of the Institute of College Education Innovation. In the business
report category (external), 18 teams across four job categories received
awards, along with a total of 2.5 million won in prize money and an award
presented under the name of the President of the Korea Digital Health Industry
Association. The Best Collaboration Award was given to the course
"Practical Applications of Medical Big Data Analysis," part of Core
Job Competency 3, led by Professor Lee Seok-jun from the Division of Business
Administration. The award was presented under the name of the CEO of i-SENS
Inc.
Director Park Sung-hyun of the Institute of College
Education Innovation stated, “The Kwangwoon Massive Open Online Course Center
(Kwangwoon MOOC Center) has been dedicated to developing high-quality
educational content and managing programs, resulting in its selection for the K-MOOC
project for seven consecutive years and the Match-Up project for two
consecutive years.” He added, “I hope this 2nd Match-Up Competition served as a
valuable opportunity for participants to gain indirect experience in the
bio-health sector, an emerging industry, and to develop their integrative
communication skills.”
Meanwhile, Kwangwoon University's Match-Up program in
the bio-health sector, in collaboration with i-SENS Inc., is scheduled to run
twice a year until 2025. Additionally, the newly launched robotics program,
selected in 2024, will be operated in collaboration with Angel Robotics Co.,
Ltd. twice a year from 2025 to 2026.
The foundational courses are available online,
allowing learners to study anytime and anywhere. The advanced courses adopt a
blended learning approach, combining online theoretical learning with offline
hands-on experience.
