Research Team of Professor Chulhwan Park (Department of Chemical Engineering) Proposed an Eco-friendly Extraction Method for Valuable Bioactive Compounds from Marine Biomass
The research team by Professor Chulhwan Park (Department of Chemical Engineering) proposed an economical and eco-friendly technology for extracting valuable substances from marine biomass discarded domestically and proposed sustainable utilization methods for marine biomass through biorefineries.

The research was funded by the Korean Institute of Marine Science and Technology (KIMST), supported by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and was published in the online edition of 'Frontiers in Marine Science.' the prestigious international academic journal, on December 8, 2023, under the title "Enhancement of dieckol extraction yield from Ecklonia cava through optimization of major variables in generally recognized as safe solvent-based process". The journal is ranked in the top 7.8% in the field of 'Marine & Freshwater Biology' by the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
